It developed into the SCT in 1986.It emphasizes on the social influences and on external and internal environment. This theory is based on person past experiences which says weather the same behavioral action will occur. These past experiences impact whether a person will present a same behavior if yes than why is he presenting that particular behavior. The goal of this theory is how people set their behavior to achieve goals that can be maintained overtime.
The main concept is
1. Reciprocal determinism it says how the world and person’s behavior has an impact on each other.
2. Behavioral Capability it depends on patient’s ability to perform a particular behavior based on his knowledge and skills.

Self-Efficacy: It depends on the individual level of confidence and his ability to perform a behavior.
AFTER SURGERY:
It is important to check patient’s history and see how is he performing in his life before the injury. It is important to guide patient how the positive past experience will enable him to achieve his goals and improves his self-efficacy. To improve his motivation. it’s important to draw his attention to his surrounding environment but it must be positive so he will in return develop his positive behavior to achieve his goals.
(4, 10 WEEKS) COUNSELLING:
These sessions must be based on his current situation and to see what is his level of motivation and if he is able to produce behaviors that would be helpful in future. Check his behavioral capability how he is able to do particular task based on his skills and talk to him about the outcomes of the treatment plan that will improve his level of expectations. Patient will improve his self-efficacy if he has higher level of confidence and he gets the confidence through his mental state and also the external and internal factors that will enable him to keep on working towards his goal oriented
