The Social Entrepreneur Corps is an organization that seeks to foster entrepreneurs in developing countries in order to create social and economical change. The Social Entrepreneur Corps operates in several countries that include: The Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. In these countries, there is a shortage of services and products, such as hygiene awareness and water, and The Social Entrepreneur Corps believes that entrepreneurs can improve access to these necessities. I will be helping them obtain the resources needed for their endeavors, create business and marketing plans, and work to connect them with the people in need, as well as other services. Another component of this internship includes a research project that focuses on finding other services or products that these communities need. I will be working directly with the members of these communities in order to better serve them. In conjunction with these responsibilities, I will also deepen my understanding of social entrepreneurship through seminars and discussion led by the organization.

Hopefully, I can so by using the skills and abilities that I have learned both on campus and through personal experiences. I also expect to create a new project in the area that can be scaled and implemented throughout Ecuador. This will be part of the research project that I will be undertaking. I also hope to increase my knowledge of social entrepreneurship and consulting by engaging in both and through the guidance of experienced team leaders. Another skill I hope to improve on is my Spanish. While I am fluent in Spanish, I do not get the chance to practice it often and I seldom use it in a professional setting. Because this internship requires me speak and write in Spanish, I hope to take advantage of this and increase my verbal and writing
