The Feed A Child Advertisement Analysis

We have changed drastically in the past One hundred years. To say that there was segregation between people of color and whites is mind blowing to some of my generation. The definition of race is as follows “A group of people identified as distinct from other groups because of supposed physical or genetic traits shared by the group. Most biologists and anthropologists do not recognize race as a biologically valid classification, in part because there is more genetic variation within groups than between them.” This is something that is meaningless because race does not exist amongst us yet we create social constructions between each other. It’s seen from our television. The Feed a child commercial depicts a rich white women feeding a black child like a dog. It portrays the child licking the icing of a cake from her fingers, a woman is eating and child is crouched on the floor, looking up. She gives him small portion of her meal. Commercial then switches to a message that says "The average domestic dog eats better than millions of children," this video was released on 2014. This commercial basically said the people of color are fed by the rich white people. The wealth disparity is a good depiction on how white supremacy is still active, today we see more whites make more money than blacks the reason being is because they are thousands of years ahead. The Unequal Opportunity Race video is about a race against people of color and whites. When the race starts the whites start running while people of color cant because of the years they were oppressed by whites. Years pass and the whites get older and give their wealth to their children and it’s not until the year 1964 the people of color start the race/make money. They get obstacle in their race such ass segregation, racial profiling and shortened lifespan. Throughout all this the whites keep on upgrading and making a ton more money.
