In the 1600’s to 1700’s, Racism was huge thing.While white servants were able to get their freedom back the black slaves struggled. This caused an explosion of riots towards the upper class. The racism started when blacks realized that they were not getting equality. The lower class realized that the blacks were not under the social class. There was slavery which caused it to be a huge thing to this day. It struck when whites started fighting against blacks to stay away and not be allowed to be a part of their community. Not only did it bring out leaders that fought, but it also “was civil disobedience that won them their civil rights.”( Tariq Ali). . Martin Luther King had a strong impact on the civil rights movement. His words were able to connect with the African Americans into fighting for their justice and Civil Rights. MLK told the public, “The question is not if we will be extremists, but what kind of extremists we will be.
