Analysis Outline Name:Kaitlyn Fultz

Intro(ideas)Thesis:The Sneetches By Dr.Seuss is a story about a particular creatures that go by the name ¨The Sneetches.¨ Some of the Sneetches have stars on their bellies while others do not. Sneetches with the stars on their bellies are considered to be better than the other group of Sneetches which do not have stars on their bellies. Leading me to think that the Sneetches with stars are referring to humans who think they are above others just because of the clothes, shoes, gaming devices etcetera that they have.

At first the movie was all about one group thinking they were better than the other group all because they had something that the others did not. They are stereotyping the other Sneetches. In the book, On Course, it describes that once our minds have jumped to a stereotype that we then generalize it so that any that we perceive to fit that stereotype is lumped in as well whether it is right or wrong. Eventually throughout the film after many bumps along the way the Sneetches were able to realize that it did not matter who was different or who was the same. They were all Sneetches and so they should all work together and get along.…

    Walter Waddless Analysis

    • 4 Pages

It was unfortunate for Walter Waddles that he struggled mightily with his weight, a not all too uncommon affliction these days, but a surname like his was fodder for an unceasing commentary on his unbalanced gait brought on by an accompanying and rather prodigious girth. Further cause for ridicule from his puerile classmates at Robert E. Seaman elementary was the fact that his feet were splayed and compressed under the burden they bore, and while one shoe was worn down on its outer edge from supination, the other was slanted opposite from pronation and the result was that Walter Waddles ... well, he waddled. He thought that he had heard them all, and with characteristic aplomb executed peremptory strikes upon himself whenever he anticipated an upcoming wave of tired epithets.…

Dawn broke to an explosion of bird songs, the cacophony startling Booker awake with a disgruntled groan. Unimpressed by the early morning alarm clock, he angrily pulled his pillow over his head and attempted to drown out the noise. But after several minutes, the humorous fact that the sound easily penetrated through the downy feathers brought a good-natured smile to his lips, and with a resigned sigh, he threw the pillow to the floor and sat up. From across the room, Tom yawned loudly, a sleepy smile spreading across his face.…

As part of our curriculum in Higher Education, a required course was Social Justice 6404. In this class the objective was to learn about different forms of social diversity to help prepare students for educating them on the issues of racism, discrimination, and injustice. One of the resource materials were films dealing with different class systems as teaching models. The first film viewed was “Sneetches” which gave me a better understanding about stereotypes and how they impact individuals of the same race.…

Anyone who hasn’t been living under a rock for the past thirty years (on that note, even ten years) acknowledges that the world has changed radically. From the rise and further advancement of computers, to the increasing prevalence of bioengineering, and even something as simple as how people discuss things all demonstrate that this is a radically different world from my parents, my grandparents and my great grandparents. With these innovations, problems both contemporary and archaic have reared their ugly heads; one of the greatest of these issues is bullying. This endearing issue, something in which we all have encountered by some means, and by some form, plays a massive role in our world today. Although it seems like this issue is something with no solution, many resources that have been acquired (from our innovations to the literature that has been created by great minds) prove that there are ideas about how to make this issue cease to exist.…

John Carpenters ’s 1982 horror film, The Thing was made as a premise for social commentary on the deterioration of humanity, warning society of the devastating potential of thinking as individuals in isolation rather than a collective. These themes are accentuated through the use of an alien specimen that enters the world of American male scientists based in Antarctica. The alien (or “Thing”) infects living organisms and attempts to take over the human race by ‘imitating’ them, leaving the men in a fight for their own survival as they try to differentiate between “human” and an alien imitation of a human. The term humanity itself is redefined in this film and is stripped to its bare minimum: the mere biological relationship between humans.…

Analysis of Film In spite of this film initially leaving you just as disoriented and confused as David Aames appears to be, I undoubtedly grew more inquisitive of Mr. Aames confusion as the story of Vanilla Sky began to digest. Although at first sight it may not be effortlessly portrayed; the scenario of Vanilla Sky is clearly dealing with the notion of suicide. Presumably, the most visible link to suicidal behavior disorder shown earliest in the film would be the self-inflicted death of Julianna Gianni, David’s obsessive ‘bed buddy’. The film does an exceptional job of depicting Julie’s compulsive admiration for David, which eventually led her to drive them both off a bridge.…
