As the boxes line up on the conveyor belts, several employees create an assembly line to load the boxes of glass onto the delivery trucks. The slow loading to a regular customer is time consuming, but to the employee loading it, it is a process that takes a while to get to where they are. As the glasses are melted and molded into their desired shapes, hundreds upon thousands are shipped every day to local stores. The manager of the factory stands over watch of the productivity. The owner of the company, who designed said glasses, calls and asks how production is going as he just put out the new commercial for the product. Even the smallest business owner needs a market plan, and he has one; this is why he is one of the biggest company owners in the United States.

Honest situational analysis will often lead into a SWOT analysis. The SWOT analysis “determines the strengths and weaknesses of the company, finds opportunities for profitability and examines potential threats to the plan 's success. This section also includes assessments on current social and political trends that can affect the plan 's success, as well as how the product stacks up against the competition (Hanks).” The SWOT analysis as well as the internal, external, and market situation marks a path for the future. There may be things that need to change immediately. Hesitation will only decrease productivity and needs to be ostracized from the equation. That is the purpose of this stage of a marketing plan: to change, develop, and strengthen the products foundation. No business has ever started off 100% perfect, nor should any strive to do so.
