The theory surrounding the reliance on sources posits that organizations conduct this type of examination to not only lessen reliance, but also to apply adequate pressure to obtain needed supplies or services (Jones, 2007). I believe that the agency uses its authority in its dealings with partners on a cost-efficient basis, and leverages its reliance on sources appropriately; and furthermore, it is using mechanisms appropriately. Because the agency receives limited funds each year through the budget, it must use these funds wisely and leverage its sources appropriately, identifying the more formal source from informal. I believe that the only weakness in the environment is the technological challenges the SBA faces as recent cyber attacks evidence.
