“A June 2014 peer-reviewed University of Melbourne study showed that children raised by same-sex parents score about six percent higher than the general population on measures of general health and family cohesion” stated from ProCon Organization. But, even children that have heterosexual parents, don’t always have both of their parents in their lives. Not every child is going to have both a mother or father figure when they grow up. Sometimes there’s just a mother figure, and saying that there has to be a father in order for the child to grow up healthy, is kind of degrading to single moms. As long as the parents love the child and give them the best support, they will turn out like anybody else. “In the U.S., 397,122 children are living without permanent families in the foster care system. 101,666 of these children are eligible for adoption, but nearly 32% of these children will wait over three years in foster care before being adopted,” according to Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute. Same-sex couples being able to adopt these children will help lower foster children and give them a home. These children will actually have a more open mind, and be able to see things on the other side. Some kids grow up in abusive homes, hopefully people would rather have a child grow up with Same-Sex parents than be abused. According to The American Psychological Association “- about 40 to 50 percent of couples in the United States divorce”. Every marriage has the same chance of not working out if it’s not meant to be. Most people stay together and don’t get married for a long time, but once they marry someone it’s a bigger chance of them eventually separating. It’s easier to walk out of a relationship than it is a marriage. Marriages will end if they are bound to end, and some argue that gay couples don’t get married even when it becomes legal. It is always nice to have the option if one day they do want to get married. Heterosexual couples don’t always get married either, so it’s not really a valid reason for being against Same-Sex
