Unfortunately, this did not last long and many whites that were not indentured servants feared that the white indentured servants and black slaves would come together and revolt against the high authority whites. The whites fear were proven when Nathaniel Bacon (explain who this) told the under privileged whites and blacks to revolt and they did so. They tired to burn down Jamestown, but unfortunately it failed and it caused worse outcomes to African Americans. Due to this act Slave Codes implanted, in “Socially Constructing Race and History: Exploring Black Identity and Popular Culture in Social Studies Classrooms through Cultural Studies Framework” David Childs writes, “Laws known as Black codes (Childs, 2013) in the south greatly infringed upon the freedom of African Americans. This relates to Mass Incarceration because it targets African Americans mostly for drug related crimes, even thought all races use drugs at the same rate. Our society picks on blacks more than any other race for criminal and drug related offenses. In “Five Theses on Mass Incarceration” Alessandro De Giorgi mentions, “The largest overrepresentation of black prisoners is among males aged 18 to 19: With an incarceration rate of 1,072/100,000, young black men are 10 times more likely to be in a state or federal prison than whites (102/100,000). In 2014, 6% of black men aged 30 to 39 were in prison, compared to 2% of Latinos and 1% of whites of the same age (BJS 2015, 1) ( Giorgi, 5). This statistics prove that Blacks are more likely to go to prion than any other race. African Americans are 10 more likely to go prison than white. That is outrages, especially because most African Americans go to prion for minor drug offenses. The inequalities in our criminal justice system does not just end there, the Untied States has many laws that are were created for racial reason. For example pretext stops and reasonable suspicion. These two factors allow police to choose who to target without being questioned. In a chart from an article called “Following the Script: Narratives of Suspicion in Terry Stops in Street Policing” it shows that percentage of Black males being stopped is 51.9%, while other races are
