In the beginning of every horror we can recognize who’s going to be that girl. She is the only female character who is developed in the movie. With paying attention on her the director shows to the audience every aspect of that character. During the movie it is very noticable how the Final Girl presented at first as scared and pasive one become more masculine. Furthermore she is not hiding from the killer but huting him down and fighting back. Wecan say that this is very masculine act or at least we are used to see that type of attitude from male characters instead of female. With that we can see why in one way we can say that this movies are about sexuality and gender. Exactly that changing in female character’s attitude is shown not only in Halloween by Jamie Lee Curtis (Laurie Strode) character but in many other slashers. In Clover’s essays one thing that she is very interested about is what is going in the audience mind during the movie, and especially in the young man’s head. According to her during the first part of the movie the male audience is seeing themselves in killers position, which at the final scenes elaborate in something else. At the end of each slashers according to her the male viewer starting to see himself more into the Final Girl’s position because of her increasing masculinity.
