The word slut has been used in our society and is seen as something normal to say to a girl. A lot of people call each other sluts without really thinking about what it meant and how it can affect others. First of all, what is a slut? Who are we allow to call sluts and who aren’t we allowed to? According to dictonay.com, slut is define as disparaging and offensive. A sexually promiscuous woman, or a woman who behaves or dresses in an overtly sexual way. We are seeing young girls calling each other slut without knowing they are slut shamming each other and the impact that it can have in their lives. We are also seeing young girls being proud of being call slut because they think its “cool” and in which guys think they can have sex with them without their consent. The problem with slut shaming starts in families and what we see in our surrounding. I believe parents have a really important of teaching their children what is right and wrong. Teaching their young boys that having sex with a w women without her consent if illegal and they can go to jell for it. Parents should also teach their young girl that calling other girls slut does not make them any better than that girl. Instead of keeping the stereotypes about women who have a lot are woman who have a low self-esteem or boys just go to universities for sex alive, we should teach our children that they are able to do whatever they want to do to their body but to always keep the side effects in their mind. We need to teach our children to not judge others just because they wouldn’t do what the other person is
