The skinny bitch diet is about how becoming Vegan can really change your life. It talks about the dangers of eating too much meat and the ill-treatment of animals. In a part of the book it talks about how animals are mistreated and abused before they are slaughtered. Some animals are not even dead before they are put into boiling pots. The books is mainly written to stop people from eating meat and starting eating more organic fruits, vegetables and even fake meats. It also bashes the Atkins Diet which does help you loose weight but says that you are killing yourself and not truly being healthy by omitting fruits from your diet. It also talks about the things that the USDA allows to be put in food that makes us addicted to it. It also talks about …show more content…
There are alot of websites that you can go to to order organic fruits and fake meats off the internet. Here are a few. www.vegieworld.com www.deliciouschoices.com www.veganstore.com www.rawbalance.com www.playfood.org www.treehuggintreats.com www.simpletreats.com www.chocolatedecadence.com The book is a really great read and it has very important infomation that I didn't know anything about. And the book also has more infomation on websites for treating animals better. Someof the quotes in there about how animals are treated is just inhumane and just plain sadistic and evil. Most of the time the workers are the main ones contributing to the abuse and mistreatment of animals. The book might be a gimmic to become Vegan but I can clearly see the temptation. I will try the diet and do an update story within 3 to 6 months to see how much weight I lose and how I look and feel.
You manage to stick with your diet program all week long, but find yourself doing a 180 by the time Saturday rolls around. If your good intentions to stick with a diet

She brings ups the ideas of nutritious creations on demand which is customized to your blood levels, chocolate that makes you lose weight, etc. Wariner uses pictures and makes the slides almost like a children's book/comic. I believe the author mocks what others are thinking we will eat in the future because she states “Chocolate that makes you lose weight” and “Carb-free bread” which is impossible to make. She also talks about eating food “fresh from the lab” which shows that this piece that she created is a satire. I was confused when the author wrote “A.I. Diet Food” because I do not know what A.I. stands for.…

It is also important to remember that during this first initial phase is that the weight loss that is being experienced is usually water weight from the tissues and not fat itself. Also when she wraps up her argument on inhumane treatment of animals she mentions “for our meat and dairy products... ”(Garretson) when she could have just mentioned the meat industry. Finally, in the first quote used within this paragraph, she mentions plant-based sources not just non-meat sources. Garretson knew her strengths and weaknesses, so she chose to write on the benefits of vegetarianism when she most likely subscribed to, and wanted others to convert to, veganism. She does this because with her limited citations and lack of a counterargument, she would not have been able to convince anyone once they knew she wanted them to give up all animal products.…

In October 2010, James Sanborn published “Weight Loss at Any Cost” for Marine Corps Times. James Sanborn wrote the article because Marines are hesitant of violating the authoritarian weight policy, appearance standards, and do not want to have to be put in the program called body composition platoon (BCP). He wrote the article to give us the truth behind what Marines actually do in order to lose weight such as starving themselves, taking laxatives and undergoing liposuction surgery even though none of that is necessary. The author wrote this article to inform the Marines that they do not have to take extreme measures in order to lose weight, and not all of the Marines are made the same; some will be bigger than others. Weight loss at any cost…

There is no tolerance or the support for any business profiting from animal exploitation because they do not want to fund the unnecessary testing and suffering of millions of animals. Along with being beneficial towards animal welfare, veganism is beneficial towards the Earth’s health. By going vegan, the impact of climate change and pollution can be reduced, while saving water and other limited resources for our usage. Global warming is a major threat to the global environment yet, only carbon dioxide emissions are called the main culprits behind it when that is not the case.…

The animal rights movement consists of privileged ideology based off emotion and no logic. Nathanael Johnson explores these ideals in “Is there a Moral Case for Meat?” and a couple in the film “At the Fork” explores the morality of farming. While the article and film seem to take similar stances on the farming of animals, I disagree. Humans do not have a responsibility to avoid meat or mitigate the suffering of farm raised animals.…

Veganism is something I find to be overlooked. Vegans, in addition to being vegetarian, do not use other animal products and by-products derived from animal products. People wonder if we would be healthier with a vegan diet, and I’m here to argue yes, not only would we be healthier with a vegan diet, but there comes benefits to going vegan that could help our ecosystem. Although carnists argue against Veganism due to calorie efficiency, it’s actually easily solved with vitamins and minerals. What many people don’t know is the mistreatment of farm animals.…

One way this non-fiction form represents the theme of food is by incorporating interviews from professors, renowned doctors, nutritionists, environmental experts, holistic health practitioners, athletes, chefs, authors, bloggers and includes people who overcame diseases such as cancer and depression by completely changing their diet to a plant-based one. Another way this form represents the theme of endorsing a plant-based diet is through pathos and logos. The film employs pathos, by using an emotional point of view to persuade the audience. By showing videos of animals being treated cruelly with sad music and quoting John Joseph McGowan, a punk rock singer and plant-based author, saying, “everybody talks about the holocaust but what about the holocaust were creating for animals, every year were killing billions and billions of animals and you want peace on earth, peace on earth is for all living entities not just humans” plays on the audiences’ emotions. The film uses logos, appealing to the audience’s sense of logic and reason to persuade the argument.…

Many show that a major issue in animal welfare should be solved by vegetarianism and not torture animals to get their meat. As Freeman argues, “animals used for food in the United States are commonly treated like unfeeling tools of production, rather than living, feeling animals,” (Freeman 170). Many feel the need to reduce meat because of animal cruelty, and not because of the welfare of the…
