Often when you have a particular outlook to challenges, and approach problems with a certain personality, your outcome reflects your outlook. In the short story, “The Skeleton Key” by George G. Toudouze, the Narrator’s determination, logicalness, and positivity all contribute to why the he survived the attack. To begin, the Narrator has a good sense of determination. On page 163 it states, “ The pay was high, so in order to reach the sum I had set out to save before I married, I volunteered for service in the new light.” This quote shows that the author is determined. He sets goals, and wants to achieve them. We later find out that he won’t give up when the characters are being attacked by rats. Additionally, the Narrator is logical. After
