Throughout day to day activities there are often times when we find ourselves reaching out to others to fulfill a favor. Except getting the other person to comply, or agree, with completing the task can be extremely difficult. Bob Cialdini, a social psychologist, looked further into the matter of compliance and constructed the six norms of social influence. Furthermore, each influence; reciprocity, social proof, consistency, liking, authority, and scarcity, contains several techniques to assist in increasing the chances of accepting the favor or offer. In addition, many of the techniques can overlap to help persuade the targeted individual, whether good or bad, making it easier to persuade others in fulfilling favors or purchasing products.
