The Six Gangs

Decent Essays
Nobody publicized or even declared it. Nobody really knows how it started, but there was a fight. A battle, a war almost. Between six of the largest gangs in the world. One from each continent, asides from Antarctica. These six gangs were taking over the government of the continent they were from. Each gang was different in their own unique way, North America was The Ferocious, South America was The Remorseless, Europe was The Savage, Africa was The Ruthless, Asia was The Merciless, and Australia was The Vicious. Most did not know the real reason behind the fight, many in fact, but none were shared with the public.

Along with the CIA and Cuba, the next most well known theory is that the Mafia and Bobby Kennedy with Jack Ruby had something to do with the killing of the 35th President of the United States. The basic understanding of why this might have happened actually has to do with the election. JFK told the Chicago Mafia that if they got people to vote for him he would leave them alone. This happened, but Bobby Kennedy really pushed to get rid of organized crime (Thomas 14-17). When this started to happen the Mafia was not happy because JFK had made a promise to them.…

Having a large population of people of color, Los Angeles has been a site of racial tensions between Latinos and Blacks. In the mid-2000’s, there was a conflict between two street gangs. Florencia 13, which is a Latino gang, and East Crips, which is a black gang, had a street war over having control of the drug trade in Florence and Firestone, this later became seen as a racial war between both gangs (Quinones, 2007). Marking and respecting territory have been societal factors that tend to fuel tension between both races. I found very interesting your approach that the contruction of gangs was mainly cultural. Despite that I took a different aproach of this question, I think that there are a lot of support and logic in what you say : “immigrants were patronized for the color of their skin and the filthy housing conditions in which they resided. “ Clearly, it's an immigration instability, or search for a stability which pushed some persons to join gands, as the desesperation of the powerty for the others. Your point of vieuw that color of skin represent culture, like you've said: “the shame the Mexicans and Puerto Ricans had of their skin color and that was the very reason for their unique attitude against being taken for black “, it's also something new for…
