With this role, I brought up an issue that many were unaware of, and that was the prejudice against transgender people of color. I can still vividly imagine the faces of disbelief the club members when I revealed the fact that more than 15 innocent transgendered women have been killed in 2015, however none of those cases have been reported to mainstream media. I think of those words when I am up at 2 am organizing a fundraiser and baking cupcakes while I am doing my homework in order to raise money for transgender refugee homes.
