One similarity between Sarabi and Gertrude is that both of their husbands were killed by their brother-in-laws unknowingly. Although, unlike Gertrude, Sarabi did not rush and marry her deceased husband’s brother. Sarabi despised Scar whereas Gertrude was quickly swept off her feet by Claudius. Both mothers loved their sons dearly and were in the dark about the new Kings plans to kill Hamlet and Simba. Another difference is that Gertrude ended up dying in the end but, Sarabi lived on to see Simba become king and have a kid of his own with Nala.
