Growing up as a child I totally despised books, I hated reading all together. I did not did not enjoy reading alone and I surely did not appreciate reading in class. It was not that I was incapable of reading, in fact I always scored exceptionally well on all reading segments of standardized tests, I just really did not see a requirement for it. Throughout my middle school years the english department required all students to read a specific number of books every month, so there was no chance to get of staying away from it.
