The Similarities Between Islam And The Beatitudes

The online dictionary defines ethics as “the moral principles that govern a person’s or group’s behavior.” I believe ethics is needed for mankind. It is our means of deciding what route to take in life. Without a foundation of ethics, one’s actions would be arbitrary and purposeless. Foundation of ethics can also be called your guiding principles in life because if you do not have what to live by, then there is no point to your existence on earth and there would be no way to work towards a goal. When you have a good ethical standard, you are able to establish your goals to achieve your most vital values. Just like the saying, “if you don’t live for something, you will die for nothing,” simply means that if you have flaws in your ethics, then your chances of being prosperous in your venture is low. As a Christian, my foundation of ethics is based on the Bible. I use the Bible as a guide on how to live my life and treat people. The Bible was written by different individuals who got inspiration from God, it is the revelation that lets us know what is really good and evil.
