As I read pages 153-159, I saw many similarities between Amir and my life. First, I saw how worried Amir was of his father when he started getting sick, how concerned he got when he found out that his father had cancer. As sons and daughters of our parents, we care for our parents health. Therefore, Amir was frighten that his father was sick because, he at no time experienced his father being sick. Amir was still young at the time when his father was diagnosed with cancer, this was new for Amir and he knew that it wasn’t going to be easy. Secondly, I saw that Amir was afraid of being alone in the future if his father died. Since Amir only moved to the United States with his father, he didn’t have no one else then him.
