Unlike horror films, action films are not produced to scare or frighten the audience. Some action films could be produced just for entertainment or to tell a story of which was true. Others could inspire or courage the audience to be that one person who acts like that “hero” type person in the film. The sub-genres of action films are epic movies, spy movies, disaster movies, superhero, thriller, martial arts, and video game movies. Some examples of action films are Braveheart, James Bond, Armageddon, Batman, Lethal Weapon, The Matrix, Mortal Kombat, etc. Those are also some examples of each sub-genre within action films. Both, horror films and action films may have their differences, but they also have some similarities. They both could possibly include some sort of violence and/or gore scenes. For example, Halloween and Lethal Weapon have several scenes in the film where there are extreme violence. They also could both be similar by some of the characters in the film having some type of special powers or special abilities that allows them to be more mindful. Another similarity is that in most horror and action films, the characters may use weaponry to defend themselves or as in most horror films, weaponry is used to execute people that are in most cases
