Cultural Differences: Similarities Between American And Kuwaiti Weddings

Every country has their own traditions in how they do their weddings. Some people do their weddings outdoor and others indoor. Marriage is the relationship between two people who are married that comes after doing a wedding. People do weddings and get married when they are in love with each other or maybe their family forced or told them to get married. In the past, the family would choose the partner, instead of the bride or groom. They also design everything like the clothes, the theme of the wedding also they choose the food that they want to serve in the wedding. Weddings in the United States are the most varied and flexible in the world. There are not many wedding traditions that are unique to the United States because most are derived from other cultures. Most of these customs stem from Europe. There is one similarity and two differences between American wedding and Kuwaiti wedding. …show more content…
First, the American bride wears a white dress. For example, sometimes its long sleeved dress and sometimes without sleeves. To explain, it is not necessary to be a long dress, some women choose a short dress but mostly they wear a long dress. Kuwaiti bride wear the same kind of dress. Second, the bride’s father come in with his daughter to the husband. For example, in the beginning of the wedding they enter together and sometimes in the end, both of American wedding and Kuwaiti wedding do that. Third, they both do invitation cards. They go to some shops to pick and design the cards and what to write on it. For example, they write their names, the date, the place and the names of who is invited.
