This poem’s situation is where Frost has to make a decision in his life and no matter which one he picks it will affect his life. The poem starts off with Frost at the beginning of two paths; one has been traveled on many times the other has not. What Frost is saying is that one of the routes is easy and the other is cluttered with obstacles that make it difficult. As Frost examines the two paths, he states “then took the other, as just as fair”. Frost believes that both paths have fair and equal opportunities. Frost uses a simple rhyme scheme with each stanza having five lines. Line one, three, four rhyme in every stanza and line two and five rhyme in every stanza. Frost uses imagery when he says, “ I shall be telling this with a sigh”(. Frost hints at regret that he picked the path he did and wishes he picked the other one.
