My Visit India Essay

Last summer, I was given the opportunity to visit India, my native country. Even though I was born in India, I was not able to explore the country’s rich history. I visited many historic sites, including some of the most famous buildings in the world, The Taj Mahal. I also visited other monuments while on my visit. I have learned a lot about the history of India, which is full of different cultures. Throughout my visit to India, I came to realization that these places hold a tremendous amount of historical background and the fact that they are still standing is remarkable. It is located in New Delhi, the capital city of India, which makes it a powerful fort during the Mughal Empire. The Red Fort got its name from the color of its walls, which consist of red sandstone. It has been the symbol of power ever since it was built. Every year, on independence day, the Prime Minister hoists the national flag in front of the Red Fort, and gives a nationally broadcasted speech. When I went to visit the Fort, I was immediately blown away away by the beauty of the Fort. It stands alone in an area with no high-rise buildings, which makes it stands out. Further, the guide told us that the fort was designed by the same person who designed the Taj Mahal. The fort also lies on the banks of the same rive, the Yamuna. It is a well known icon of India, mainly because when India gained its independence, Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru raised an Indian Flag over the gates of the Red Fort.
