After the four horseman in the first four seals were released there were still three more seals the lamb had yet to reveal, which contained three ways in which the world could end and these were also what John The Apostle predicted. Now the lamb opened the 5th seal and this seal contained the persecution of many people, then the 6th seal was opened and it contained a natural disaster, and finally was the 7th seal which contained the silencing of the Heavens and the lord could not do anything to help the people. The silencing of the Heavens completed the seven seals, symbolizing that Seven is a symbolic number that does good throughout stories such as Genesis, but the number seven in the book of Revelation was a very evil

The idea of an apocalypse has become widely popular over the past few years with shows like The Walking Dead and Doomsday Preppers. This phenomenon is not a new idea, it was actually prophesied thousands of years ago in the Bible. The book of Revelation uses the four horsemen as symbols of prophetic things to come. The four horsemen sit upon the White Horse, Red Horse, Black Horse, and Pale Horse which represent conquering, war, famine, and death (NASB, Rev 6:1-8). These horsemen are used to reign in an unprecedented tribulation period of seven years, known as The Tribulation.…

“The Brethren all in battle join; each ready with a chosen sign” reads the first portion of the first octangular line of the seal of the brotherhood. Their seal was a quinquangular figure (having five angles), which was indecipherable to a man not initiated. Milne suggests that the complexity of the seal and the signs each brother takes was to “elude suspicion, while in company with others;” the Triad’s secrecy is of the utmost importance to them being that their beliefs and activities were very specific to who they were as a brotherhood. The five corners of their seal represented five planets/elements, which held strong meaning to the Triad. Milne points out that “the reasons (or some of the reasons) why these planets are placed at the corners of this seal, may be, (…) because they are considered the extreme points of all created things.”…

The genre of Deuteronomy 6:1-9 is law. Law was God’s gift to Israel, a covenant or promise that he made with them that if they lived Godly lives, they would be fruitful in the land he would give them. Often times when people today think of the word “law”, they associate it with being controlled, but in this context it wasn’t seen as a way to hold people back. While it was Israel’s constitution, the main purpose of law was to instruct the Israelites on how to thrive in the promised land and have a strong connection with God. Aside from those unique characteristics, there are six important principles to be aware of when interpreting law.…

Daniel’s 70 weeks lay out God’s plan for the nation, Israel (see Daniel 9:24-27). According to most scholars within both the Dispensational and Covenantal camps, the Messiah (Jesus) is cut off (crucified) after the 7 and 62 (7+62=69) weeks. These are weeks of years, not days. Dispensationalists teach a parenthesis (2000-year gap) between the 69th and 70th week, which becomes the church age of grace, essentially starting from Christ’s resurrection and extending all the way until the rapture of His Church just prior to His second coming. The future 7-year tribulation period is Daniel’s final 70th week of years (7 years).…

For as long as there has even been a theological understanding of the existence of God, heaven and the story of humankind’s beginnings, there has been a conversation about hell. The presence of hell hearkens back to the Old Testament and the concept grows throughout the Bible until the great unveiling of its physical manifestation in the book of Revelation. It is this final understanding of what hell will be that sticks in the minds of many Christians and theologians. In fact, what has been described in the book of Revelation is the basis for the characterization of hell in popular culture and represents imagery that has since persisted through the generations.…

"Revelation," by Flannery O'Connor, demonstrates how a so-called "perfect Christian" can get caught up in their own haughtiness; therefore, blinding themselves of the true light of God. In the beginning of her story, O'Connor reveals a habitual thought of naming social classes that processes through Mrs. Turpin's mind at night (195). She places herself and the others in her socioeconomic class above colored people, "white-trash," and home-owners; moreover, one can infer that Mrs. Turpin believes she is better than them in all aspects of life. Another important aspect of Mrs. Turpin is shown through a character named Mary Grace. Mary Grace's eyes are a symbol of God's grace and the look in her eyes grows more grotesque as Mrs. Turpin makes derogatory…

In viewing many online debates between Christians and non-believers concerning the matter of God, often times it is the non-believer who obtains the upper hand in the argument. When confronted with difficult questions concerning God’s revelation, many Christians are unable to properly defend the questions of objectors or even the Christian faith. For many Christians, God’s revelation is through the lens of a less than Christian worldview where knowledge of God is imperfect and clarified through societal norms, preconceptions, and judgments (McGrath, 2014). Lacking the biblical knowledge to fend off a non-believers questioning concerning matters of faith, God’s revelation included, Christians resort to their own reason based off theirs and…
