ITV is a commercial TV network which was launched in 1955. The origins of ITV lie in the passing of the Television Act 1954, designed to break the monopoly on television held by the BBC Television Service.

ITV is the oldest commercial network in the UK. This explains why it is extremely successful, and why millions of people enjoy this network.

Their current channels include ITV, ITV2, ITV3, and many others.

ITV produce and show some of the greatest shows on television. These include Coronation Street, The X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent and Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway. Coronation Street is one of the most popular soaps on TV, along with Emmerdale (which is also on ITV)
