A spiritual leader must listen to the people and have time for the people - by investing themselves(Nouwen, 1977). Nouwen writes, “discipline in the spiritual life is the human effort to unveil what was covered, to bring to the foreground what had remained hidden and to put on the lampstand what was kept under the bushel (Nouwen, 1977). Paul reminds us to consider others better than ourselves, “do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility, value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of others.” (Philippians 2:3-4). A leader serves those on the inside of the church and the outside of the church. The most reward is to be a servant of love by giving your time, being dedication as for making life better for those who are in need. Sharing and caring for those in your community.
This topic affects me by giving back to the community. Such as building strong and positive people within the community. In addition, in my community as a servant leader, we are making plans to start a non-profit organization to feed and support the youth in all areas that will make them become a productive citizen. They will be able to get to know the good and bad spirit. So that they can learn to respect the laws of the land and God’s laws. They will learn music, arts, they will also learn how to start their own business how to fill out a resume. We will help
