Importance - The Schechter Poultry Corporation sold wholesale chickens. The Schechter's were later charged with 60 counts of violating the Live Poultry Code and they failed to pay their workers enough money for the number of hours they worked. The Schechter's pleaded not guilty to the charges but they were later found guilty and convicted for some of the charges. The convictions were later overturned and the Live Poultry Code was declared unconstitutional.
