Do you want to read a book that is filled with horror and fright to the point where you can't put the book down? Then The Shining is the book for you. A horror action/ survival intense filled book that will scare you straight is good way to describe this Stephen King book Let me just quickly say that this is by far the scariest novel that I have ever read. King brings out all of his great of writing techniques and creative writing mind in The Shining. At 447 Pages it exhibits all of King’s writing techniques which are absolutely incredible , and the detail that goes into this book making every bit more and more frightening. Even though this is an entirely new way of writing and a completely different to any novel has ever published to this point it shows off his writing skills in a incredible way.

The beginning of the story really isn't horror filled and frightening but then again most horror novels and movies don’t immediately start of scary. Over time though It gets revealed that Danny, has a mysterious power known as "The Shining" that shows him things from the past and future which is a big point because he can see the horror and things that are yet to happen. In the meantime Jack starts driving into insanity, turning more and more aggressive, at this point everything changes and the fright hits in as Danny and his mother Wendy realize they have to flee for what is about to
