How does having a belief (in something or someone) help us to conquer fear and keep hope alive?
Answer: having a belief in someone help us conquer fear because it leads to a greater hope in the future. Throughout the movie, Andy establishes a close relationship with Red and before Andy left, he told Red that to find a rock in a location in the middle of nowhere to find Andy in Mexico. When Red was released, he had the hope to find andy and find the rock containing money to head to Andy’s location even though he could had ended his life or resume the hardships of normal life as a grocery bagger.

What is truth? How are justice and truth bound together?
Answer: Justice is the quality of being just, righteousness, equitableness, or moral rightness. Truth is conformity with fact or reality that something happen in real life. These two terms a bonded together because these dictate the action and history of a nation and in everyone’s life. Shawshank prison, supposedly a prison to rehabilitate cons but a corrupt system that establishes fear into many cons. When Andy escaped, he exposes the corruption of Shawshank security and caused the arrest of captain Hadley and the suicide of the warden.

Later he committed suicide because of his institutionalized life from the prison. Hope has driven Brooks into a realm of despair since his hope of normal life is taboo to him. Andy suggest that the power of hope ignores the hardships of prison and suggest making the best of it. Such example is Andy funding the library with used books and filing tax returns for the security and even a baseball team. Andy had the hope and balls to made used of prison life and made the best of it. Andy also suggest that hope can contribute plentiful for the prison such as giving high school education to Tommy
