"The Shakers: Hands to Work, Hearts to God," really helped me understand the lifestyle of the Shakers. I thought it was admirable how so many people would flock to that lifestyle at the time. I enjoyed hearing some of the Shakers describing what it was like to live as a Shaker. I was particularly interested in there dance rituals. One of the things that stood out to me is how welcoming and understanding the Shakers seemed to be of the “Winter Shakers.” It really shows the kind nature of that community to not turn away people they knew just came in the hard times of winter for the food and left in spring.
