What is a leader? How does one achieve true leadership status? Good leaders are made not born. If a person has the desire and will, he can become an effective leader. Good leaders develop through a continuous process of training, and experience. Leaders are continually working to improve their leadership skills; they are persistent and never resting. Over a hundred years ago the Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen and his teammates became the first men to reach Antartica; five weeks later Captain Robert Falcon Scott arrive but only to be trapped and tragically die. But another polar explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton faced harsh conditions in a way that no one has ever done. The Shackleton expedition, from 1914 to 1916, is a compelling story of leadership
