Before one wants to become a teacher, they need to understand the seven different ways their students learn. Future educators should know that one student might learn a little differently than the next. It’s important to tell the differences in each student’s learning capabilities and then can plan accordingly in the lesson plan. There are seven major types of learning styles that students attain throughout their whole life. One student might learn a completely different way than the other so it is crucial that teachers know the differences between them. They can create the most suitable lesson plan for the different learners in their class this way. This student learns best by images, pictures, and colors. Words are no friend to a visual learner; the student instantly replaces words with images in their head. Videos, posters, and charts are some of the things that these learners like to use to learn. The student might struggle in reading and writing but when it comes to art or auto-tech, this learner can excel a lot. Using different colors and layouts to create spatial organization skills is what these students do very well in also. Visual learners also love physical education class because most of the teaching is from a visual representation rather than words from a book. There will always be a visual learner in a physical education class, if we want our lesson plan to suite their style we must do a couple things. Before every lesson and new activity, make sure you are showing the students how to directly perform the task. Visual learners can perform a task just by seeing a teacher perform it a couple times before. Posters are another useful apparatus to use in your PE classroom, images of the task being done creates another visual representation of the task which will assist the students greatly. Most of the students who learn in a physical way are hands-on people. When they use their body to perform a certain task, they learn the task more easily. When the body performs a task repeatedly correctly, the movement gets wired into their brain. For these learners, practice really does make perfect. Having these students directly involved in the lesson is key because for them to learn, they must perform it. Volleyball is a lesson where every student is learning physically, they can’t begin to play a game without learning how to volley, hit, and serve the ball first. Whether it’s the volley or a serve, the student has to perform the task over and over before they can learn it. Most physical educators know not to jump into game play so quickly. Practicing doing the task before performing it is crucial for physical learners. Although some people can learn something just by performing it, others might need more assistance if they feel they aren’t doing it correctly. This is where the other learning styles come into play, although they are different, people still use multiple styles to learn a certain
