“Inspiring others to carry on the mission” is another lesson from “The Seven Lessons of Leadership.” A leader should encourage others to continue towards his or her goal. While Paul reached her main goal, the passage of an amendment granting women the right to vote, she certainly inspired people to join her cause. This is exemplified through her speeches and imprisonments. Paul advocated strongly for people to continue fighting, trying to instill hope in her followers. While picketing the White House, numerous protesters were arrested. She wrote “Why We Keep Picketing,” and explained the fight for suffrage in a historical context.
