Skilled carpenters made many products, from roofs to statues. They made made tools including saws, axes, wooden mallets, and much more. Jewelry makers made thick necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and many other pieces of jewelry. The rich people had gold jewelry. The people with less money had theirs made of copper. The copper jewelry would have colored glazes. The scribes were the few people in ancient Egypt who could read and write. It was a really hard job because there were hundreds of different hieroglyphs to remember. A scribe would write about the daily lives of the Egyptians and anything that was remarkable that was happening in ancient Egypt. They would write letters for the people who didn’t know how to write.
