Everybody has habits and they affect them all differently. There are some that are so minor that they have no major impact on people’s lives. However, there are others affect more significantly. There are habits that drag you down and others that lift you up. I learned that it is good to have positive relationships with people and that I have to feed those relationships like a growing flower. To go places, I need to have a plan and set goals as well as meet them to get there. Another thing I learned in this book is that I have to be able to work with people in life to be successful, but that I also need to give myself a break. With everything that happens in this world, it is important for me to do my best at everything to try and make a difference. That everything starts here at high school. To be anything, to go anywhere from here I need to adopt habits to make high school be the best it can be to have a great start to the life-long path ahead of me. The two habits from the book that I think are going to help me in high school and life are habits numbers two and seven; Begin with the End in Mind and Sharpen the …show more content…
The second habit I chose is (habit 7) Sharpen the Saw. The Author says that “Habit 7 is all about keeping your personal self sharp so you can better deal with life. It means regularly giving renewing and strengthening the four key dimensions of your life, your body, your brain, your heart and your soul.” (pg 206) Examples of things you can do to strengthen your dimensions and renew yourself are spending time with family or friends, reading, practicing religion (if you have one,) etc. There are an infinite number of things you can do to renew yourself. This habit is currently relevant to my life because I have been working really hard in school and and I recently had some difficulties at home. These things really worn me down and it was even somewhat hard for me to write this. My goal is to get back up off of my feet, move on and continue to do well in school. The habit Sharpen the Saw will help me reach my goal because it will help me renew and strengthen myself and my dimensions and help me deal with this life

In The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do In Life and Business, Charles Duhigg mentions that we can always modify our habits. There are three steps to identify our habit within the habit loop.
