There was distraction noise from the backside of the Church. Everyone was looking around trying to figure out the direction of the sound. The door connected to the sanctuary and the back rooms swung open, and the Pastor's wife walked through the doors with her hair out of place with an angry expression on her face. Then her assistant came from the back and sat at the other end of the pew when she usually sat beside the Pastor's wife. The Pastor opened the door and entered the sanctuary with scratches on his face and blood on the collar of his shirt. Whispers were throughout the Church as though bees were inside the Church. As the Pastor begins to preach where do you think were the congregant's minds? The focus of the congregation was not on the sermon. Everyone was wondering what was going on with the pastor and the other lay leaders of the Church. Chapter 2 of the book of Philippians which continues the letter to the Church at Philippi and is Apostle Paul’s call for their unity in Christ and how it will come through humility. It opens with the Apostle Paul posing questions to the members of the church at Philippi. “If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,” (Philippians 2:1). Which means, in a nutshell, that they have to recognize that unity in the church cannot follow unless people are truly…
