The Sentimentality Of William Tavener Summary

In the passage from “The Sentimentality of William Tavener,” the events in the plot are ordered at the beginning to that Hester is more of an ally to her so than her husband. Moreover, this is shown in the first, second, and third paragraph. In the first paragraph, it is stated by Hester, “William, I don’t think it would hurt to let the boys go to that circus in town tomorrow.” It also shows in the second paragraph where she said this and William did not answer. It states, “she usually divined his arguments and assailed them one by one before he uttered them.” It also said in the third paragraph, “His sisters in Virginia had often said that only a quiet man like William could have ever lived with Hester Perkins.” These statements, in these paragraphs show the boastfulness of Hester regarding whether or not her sons may attend the circus. He begins to tell the story that he had slipped off without his father knowing with the money he had from fox hunting that year. He also states in paragraph sixteen, “I reckon I could tell all that fool’s jokes now.
