Child appropriate materials mean that their meant for children, their safe for children to use and open-ended (Alpine Cooperative Preschool, n.d.). Open-ended materials are the materials do not only have one result. For example, wooden blocks, children can create different types of amateur using their creativity and it stimulates their thinking on why the small block cannot be below a big block or why the big block falls when it is placed on a small block. Montessori provides open ended materials which could help children in their daily activities such as washing their own clothes, tying shoelace, button and zip clothes or pants, buckle and unbuckle clothes or pants and scooping beads with a spoon, pouring liquid into another breaker, using a plastic knife to cut play dough, pouring solid (beads) into beaker, and more. Some activities or curricular might be too difficult for the certain age group therefore it is best for teachers to test and determine children’s level and standard of understanding before going full on teaching (Carroll, n.d.). From this, teacher will able to look out for children’s needs as well and help them to improve. Teacher have to always make sure that the activities are not uncomfortable for children and every activity should be planned out a lesson plan and check for children’s understanding about the lesson to ensure that children will learn something at the end of the lesson.
Class ratio matters because the smaller the class, the better for teacher to look after the needs of each child (Carroll, n.d.). Too big a class can disrupt teacher whenever he or she is teaching and it is hard to control. A smaller class could also help the teacher to get to know the children better by interacting and communicate with them to build a better
