The Secret Otto Frank An Unlucky Family

The Franks were an unlucky family that didn’t deserve to be discriminated against, like many families were during this time. They lived in Germany and grew up there. They later moved to the Netherlands because the Nazis were taking over Germany. They family that had to go into hiding because the Nazis started invading the Netherlands. All of them had to live on the top floor of Otto Franks business in a room called, The Secret Annex, with a few other family friends. The door was covered by a bookcase so no one would know there was a door there. They stayed up there for two years until they are found because of an outside source. They were split up and sent to different camps. They all ended up dead except for Otto Frank.

The family decided to go into hiding early because of this. They left a fake note saying they were going to Switzerland but they were really hiding on the top floor of Otto franks business. They all moved into a room called, the secret Annex. They also invited in a few family friends. There were the Van Dans, and a dentist named Mr. Duesel. Margot and Anne shared a room until Mr. Duesel came and ended up sharing the room with Anne. Anne was ok with it at first but over the years they both got on each other's nerves. It was a little weird at first for everybody, but eventually they all got used to each other. During the day everyone had to be quiet until 12 in the afternoon when all the workers left the building. They were then able to move around and talk to the others. The family all sat in the main room and talked to each other and ate. Anne was the happiest and liked to keep people happy and upbeat. She was the one who kept the Annex form being boring. Some things they did while they were in hiding was read and talk, Anne would read from her diary, and occasionally there friend meip would bring them cake as a treat. The only bad things that happened in hiding were some arguments. Anne and her mom didn’t get along very well but Margot and Anne grew closer while she was in hiding. (“The Story of Anne Frank”)Anne even mentioned in her dairy of how she grew fond of Peter van dan. but all the laughs and giggles all stopped on August 4th of 1944 when they were arrested. They are all then transported to Auschwitz and split up. Anne, Edith and Margot all end up in the same barracks and keep each other company. After a while Anne and Margot are transported to another camp, Bergen-Belsen, where they both die. The only one to survive this chaos was Otto
