In the play written in the Collection Book, page 290, lines 637-641, when the Frank family went into hiding, Anne exclaimed, "You know the way I'm going to think of it here? I'm going to think of it as a boarding house. A very peculiar summer boarding house..." This shows that she is indubitably optimistic. Instead of pondering about the atrocious future that may dawn upon them if the Nazis apprehend them, she related the situation to a jubilant moment she had in the past.
