“Aneesa, Abdulsalam, come get your food!” Serving my siblings food became second nature, but it will not be for long. When our eyes are not diverted to the flat screen, I usually start the conversation by saying, “I have a new story.” They would stop and listen with their opened ears. Times like these are precious to me and I do not want to waste them. Eventually though, I have to face reality and move on to the next part in my life: college. Was I ready to leave my two annoying siblings behind?

I actually like doing homework even though it is the weekend, but it helps me take my mind off things. I became confused when I found a book in my bag. I thought I was hallucinating when Lone Wolf magically appeared in my hand. Aneesa was smiling and told me “Happy birthday!”Aneesa bought the book beforehand with the allowance she made from helping our mother out. There were no other siblings that could replace Aneesa and Abdulsalam. Telling them that I was going to college soon made it even harder.
We were eating rice with chicken and soup for dinner. I talked to my parents about my college plans, but not really to my siblings. When everyone was quiet for a while, I blurted out that I was going to college. Aneesa and Abdulsalam both looked up and asked when I was going. Next year, I was going to graduate and become an adult officially. My siblings were quiet for a moment still trying to process everything I said. They both looked up and gave me a smile of
