Jochem Farm Research Paper

For 169 years, the historic Jochem farm has always run proudly. This great farm still runs with the same family that started it back in 1847. Ellen Jochem, the current owner of the farm, stated “Through it all, the farm has not only survived amazingly it prospered.” (Ellen) Over time there has been four owners of the farm, all from the Jochem family. What is the secession of the Jochem farm, and interesting stories of their families.
Strong and Independent, Nicholas Jochem first bought the farm from John Garland in 1847. Nicholas was born in Hanover, Germany on November second, 1815. He met his lovely wife on the ship that carried them here but did not marry her until 19 years later until he got to be 51 years old. They both arrived in america

Hubert gained the ownership of the Jochem farm after his father died of leukemia. once a strong and faithful man, never missing a mass on sunday. He is one of the proudest owner of the farm. He married Anna Sermersheim, she does not have a middle name. Hubert gave birth to Frances Antonia Jochem. She was one of the people to gladly give information for this paper. From what I could gather from Frances is that Hubert loved his family very much. Frances spoke very highly about her father, and her help on the farm in her younger years must have been greatly appreciated. Hubert died on december 1st. He married Ellen Irene Rasche and to this day the farm is still in their possession. Ralph had to retire this year so now his wife is in charge of the farm. Most of the farm work now is done by their sons and daughters. Although Ralph and Ellen are still very active in the community They have have help running the farm nowadays. Now days most of the farm work is done by Mark Jochem.
Mark is the son of Ellen and Ralph Jochem. Mark married Yvonne Rene Wineinger on September 3, 1988. Mark and Pat are main caretakers of the farm nowadays. They plow the fields, and take care of the livestock that they have there. His sons help him with the farm work, This helps everyone out in the family so that way no one has to do everything on the farm. Mark works hard to help out with the family farm.
The Jochem farm has survived for over 169 Years. Though the Great Depression, Though both the World Wars, it still runs now stronger and prouder than it ever did before. It has survived low and prospered on high points. The same family has worked tirelessly to provide for everyone in the surrounding
