The Sea From Capri Analysis

I had visited the High Art Museum in Atlanta on November 15. I decided to write on the art piece The Sea From Capri because that had caught my eye. The painting was born in the year of 1875. The painter is the American William Stanley Haseltine; he lived from 1835 to 1900. The painting is available for viewing in the High Arts Museum on the third level in the Stent Family Wing in gallery 301. The size of piece is 41 1/4 x 72 7/8 inches on a canvas.
The painting is a breathing taking view of a stunning mountain reflected by light over layering the crystal ocean. The sky is beautiful arranged with clouds pink. Rocks from the ocean border the mountain. In the far background sits a large town. In the town, there are many little homes and there is a larger building with a dome on top. Rotating the town is trees flooded from the cliff to the homes of the far back town. Before your eyes lead to that, there is a closer and where more light is attracted to village. There are two skinny trees closely visible. There are multiple, fine sized cactus’ surrounding the trees. You can

I can tell it’s where the artist wants us to look at because that is the lightest point of the painting and where everything takes you. What I mean by saying where it takes you to is where our eyes get drawn to and lines lead.
The pink clouds set the tone and temperature. The sun is preparing to set down. It’s difficult to tell because the tine of the sky and sea are slightly off key. The ocean looks cool and energetic while is sky is calm and warm. I guess the sea it also starting to shift it way to calming down along with the sky.
There are mostly organic forms in the piece. This gives off extinct, brilliant detail. The small village in the far background represents life. It tells us that this mountain cliff is visited almost daily and adored by its neighbors and

The painting I chose to discuss is Ti Watching a Hippopotamus Hunt. Egyptians always have a focus of someone in their art and you can clearly see from this painting that it is Ti. The Enlightenment cultural matrix picture that I decide to analyze and write about is David. David was well known for defeating Goliath in battle; he only used a rock and slingshot to bring the giant down. Gian Lorenzo Bernini sculpted the statue of David somewhere around 1623 and 1624. The sculpture was marvelously done in exceptional detail, so life like, you actually would think the statue is going to reach out and touch you. I have personally seen some of Bernini’s work and believe it is remarkable to observe.…

As funny as it may sound in many works of art there is much more going on than meets the eye. Metaphor, for example, is a common method used by artists to add meaning or dimension to their work. Metaphor is the use of something physically in the painting to represent something entirely separate weather it is an idea, feeling, thought ect. Painting No. 2…

It is a large piece, being four feet, three inches tall by almost five feet seven inches long. It is a painting on canvas where Renoir used oil paint. From what I have learned, Renoir did not plan out this painting, but he spent many months adding to and revising it. He uses space and form successfully. There is a definite foreground where some of the people dining at the table appear close, whereas the middle ground has people standing further back in conversation, and the background is beautiful with all the trees and landscapes of Chatou.…

This is a watercolor landscape painting of a snow covered mountain range and the surrounding landscape, which includes the cloudy sky and the dirt ground. It is high on the representational part of the representational-abstract spectrum as it just a landscape. Form played a big part in the artwork; different shades of blue are layered on top of each other to create the illusion for the mountains in the distance. The brown on top of the blue is to bring forth the snow mountain valley, making it seem closer to the viewer. The use of dominance is clear in the painting as the brown plateau stands out from the blue and white background.…

    Visual Artwork Analysis

In visual Artwork an important component is the usage of colors. Color usage in visual art can either portray meaning in a piece, provide an emotion from the piece, display the piece’s subject in particular detail, allow for strategy in the pattern on how someone may look at the piece, provide an interesting perspective of the subject, and as well certain colors may just be used because the artist does not have access to other colors in their medium on or available to them or for that medium. Within the two oil paintings The Houses of Parliament from Westminster Bridge by André Derain and The Burning of the Houses of Lords and Commons, 16 October 1834 by Joseph Mallord William Turner, Derain and Turner use colors in different manners for differing purposes. Within The Houses…

Not being able to see through the painting shows opaqueness and knowing this about the painting is very important to understand the meaning of it. The painting also has layers to it. The closest layer seems to be the clouds on the bottom so that is the first layer. Also, the clouds on the first layers are bright and obvious while the third layers clouds are dark and gloomy. The second layer or middle layer is Thetis and Jupiter with the eagle on the side and this is the most important layer.…
