The idea of “the scripture principle” comes from the exile of the Jewish society from Babylon. This was the answer, or solution, to the problems the Jewish community was facing. Under these circumstances, the written Torah and the synagogue were formed. As we have learned in class, the Christians of the time received a lot of their history from the Jews. A lot of their history events even overlap at times. Their “scripture principle” became the written Torah and was and still is passed down through the generations. The Christians did adopt the Jewish scriptures but did not take on the traditions of their scripture principal.
