The Scorch Trials Book Summary

One of the best parts about this book is that it just takes off where the first book (the maze runner) ends. The setting of The Scorch Trials is that it starts off with Thomas waking up in the facilities that he was in the last book. He finds the gladers then are left and finds out the trials aren't over. He then goes through even more test that are terrible like in the first book. But now he know that it is to help the world.

The characters are very different from the ones in the first book. First is Thomas, we all came to love him in the first book. He is a very brave, clever, and loyal he is from the first book. Newt (who is also in the first book) is a tall strong young man, that we come to like even more. Minho is a Korean kid who

When he later wakes up everyone is worried about the Cranks outside their door. They get out and find that Teresa is missing but there is a boy from group B named Aris in her room. They then find a man who they name Rat Man in the next room. They find out that they have all been infected with the flare and enter the Scorch, a burned out section of …show more content…
He is then taken back to where he came from.Thomas hears her voice and she tells him they something bad is going to happen to him. Thomas then sees Teresa walking towards group a with weapons. Teresa then hits Tomas many times with the butt of the spear, and takes him back to the base. When Thomas wakes up the girls decide not to kill him. The girls and Thomas than travel a few miles from "safe haven" and Teresa motions for Thomas to follow her.

Aris then holds a knife up to Thomas's back and takes him into a cave with a gas chamber. Theresa then explains to Thomas that herself and Aris had a relationship before. Thomas attacks the two but fails. The gas chamber comes on and Thomas knocks out. He has a dream about being sent into the swipe, then the maze. When he wakes up Aris and teresa explain to Thomas that the betrayal wasn't real.

They then head off because they only have a couple of hours until they have to be at Safe Haven. On the trip Teresa explains that if she didn't do what the Wicked said they would kill Thomas. They make it to Safe Haven but there are monsters everywhere, there is a fight. When Thomas falls asleep he telepathically talks to Brenda who says thing are going to get worse. He then wakes up in a white padded room. Teresa says that the Flare rooted him to deeply, and they took him away. Teresa then states 'WICKED is good", and stops talking to
