The Black Box Experiment

What is the scientific method some people may ask? In the black box experiment I will be explaining what the scientific method. This paper will also include what the experiment is and how I discovered my hypotheses along with the theory to get my answer. I will also be explaining what some of these scientific terms are that you may not fully understand. The scientific method is a way to ask and answer scientific questions by making observations and doing experiments. Picture the scientific method as a missing wallet. This part of the experiment will include the what the over all problem is. I will also be taking about the data I found along with the hypothesis and experiments to find my conclusion. As you saw in my example above I stated that my problem was the missing wallet. In this experiment my problem is trying to find what design is in this black box. In order for me to get to my conclusion I have to find data. The data I that was able to receive from my observation is, the black box is a circle. Inside that box is a small marble that is made from metal. I was also able to observer that each box had a number to it and each box had a different shape inside. Now that I have collected all of my data I need to come up with my hypothesis. My first hypothesis was that the shape was in the middle of the box because it might help hold the box together. The second hypothesis I was able to take a guess of the box having a wall down the center to keep the marble on one side. For my final guess I thought that the box was cut into four sections. Now that I was able to come up with three hypothesis from the data I was giving, I have to now experiment. For my first experiment I will observe the box by taking a good look at the design of the. I believe that with the information that was giving during class I was able to rate my abilities or observation a four out of five. I feel like I was detailed and had a good explanation of what the scientific method is and also good detail with the black box. I was able to discover that as I moved the marble around It would run in contact with a barrier that kept it from going any farther. I knew as I moved it in both directions it would stop in the same spot in each direction. With my observation I discover that you can 't go over it so you can only go around it. In this lab the first part of the paper went well explaining what the scientific method is. I found this part easiest from some of the things I learned when I was in middle school. I had most difficulty when it came to checking punctuation on this
