Although there is much overlap in the overall lessons to be learned from our readings, I feel that each book should stand alone in its account, I also feel that each book deserve more than a brief mention in a paragraph. The most recurring theme is ethical responsibility, followed by God and religion and then class and social distinctions. My final thoughts on Frankenstein are related to the seamless connection Shelly made between man, God and nature and the dangers of playing God; And Shelly’s great maturity at a very young age, as a woman and in a much less sophisticated time . Shelly explored science fiction before science fiction was a thing and she was able to see the enormous obligations in becoming a creator of things not meant to be.
