According to Schiro (2013), the scholar academic ideology views the school as the institution responsible for the transmission of knowledge. The main goal is to persuade students into the academic disciplines which include core courses such as mathematics, history, science, and literacy (Schiro, 2013). The designed curriculum derives from standardized content to ensure consistency of knowledge within the disciplines (Schiro, 2013). The purpose of education is to help students learn about the facts and information that resemble the intellectual traditions of the academic disciplines (Schiro, 2013). Moreover, it seeks to encourage students to participate actively in its knowledge and ways of thinking (Schiro, 2013).
