Adultery is a sin. Hester Pyranne has been convicted of adultery because she slept with another man and gave birth to an illegal child. She is forced to wear an “A” on her chest, which stands for adultery. Women of the town criticize her for wearing the embroidered scarlet letter, by shame, with such careless and flash attitude. She accepts her sin and believes its about of herself. She is set apart by society and asked not to intervene with anyone from town, but she causes problems with her physical isolation.
